Early Arkansas Hunters: 1911 Scott County

On the right is farmer and carpenter James Thomas Burns (August 29, 1886, in Illinois–April 26, 1973, in Bates, Arkansas), with his father, farmer, carpenter, and blacksmith Thomas Henry Burns (B. July 1856-1930), and JT’s baby son Logan J. Burns (March 13, 1911- June 22, 1992) sitting on his grandfather’s lap. Logan followed in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps and worked as a carpenter too. Taken in Scott County around 1911. They have two hunting dogs and a couple of guns, and it appears they are posing in front of a tent. Image source: Ancestry. Information source: US Census
