This incredible photograph is a member of the Big Lake Club, which existed from 1886 to 1943 outside Little Rock, near Wrightsville, Arkansas. This is the first time this picture has appeared in public. There is a series of pictures of club members, their dogs, and shotguns, posing in a studio. They are in full hunting regalia. So, this is what they would look like hunting in and around the lake. I am working on an article for the Encyclopedia of Arkansas about the Big Lake Club. This is NOT the Big Lake near Manila, Arkansas, and the club should not be confused with the Big Lake Shooting Club that existed on that Big Lake. This club was known as the Big Lake Club, the Big Lake Gun Club, or the Big Lake Sportsman Club. It contained some of the more notable citizens of Little Rock.
